Baby Shower - August 14th 2010

What a beautiful weekend! It started off by welcoming a tons of family in from out of town. We had family in from Florida, South Carolina, and as far away as California. We had such a great time with the soon to be Grandparents and Great Grandparents!! My wonderful Mom and Mother in Law worked so hard planning all the details of the shower. They even managed to keep lots of little surprises for us! The morning started off with what I think is one of the best family birthday traditions...waffles and ice cream for breakfast. A tradition I fully plan to continue!! Then off to the nail salon for a manicure and Starbucks date with my sister in law - Jen. (Another tradition I wouldn't mind keeping!! ) I came home to lots of worker bees working hard to finish up the last of the preparations. Grandma Ruth, Aunt Karen, Kaycee, Jen, Mom, and Mom H did such a great job! The shower was beautiful. It was so nice seeing old and new friends who came to help us celebrate. Jason, myself and the baby were spoiled the entire day! She is already one blessed little girl. We got showered with lots of gifts...a lot of which were homemade. It is amazing the amount of love and time that went into these gifts! We felt overwhelmed by the amount of love that already surrounds this little girl! The weekend was filled with lots of special memories. One really special moment was when my Mom gave me a book my Grandmother had made for me prior to her passing away. It was so neat to share it with my Grandfather and feel like she was part of the weekend. What a great weekend full of sweet memories. And a wonderful way to help welcome the newest member of the Halvorsen/Rendon Families!
