Dear Ella,
What an exciting month at our house!! Wow, this month has been full of lots of changes. On September 14th you took your first steps! Daddy called Mommy at work and said “Ella took her first steps..but I don’t think they counted.” I think he was trying to make me feel better about missing that sweet moment. But no worries for Mommy because you haven’t stopped since. On September 27 you walked across the room and now you refuse to crawl! You fall and get right back up and walk again. You are so determined. You will crawl only when you want to get some where quick. You have a few new bruises from spills you have taken but you keep getting up to try again! You are so proud of your new walking skills and so are we.
You love to play “Down/Up”. When Mommy says “down” you squat and then Mommy says “up” and you pop up and laugh!!
You are also showing off your two new teeth. You got the bottom left tooth and then you started getting your first top tooth a week or so ago. What a great smile you have!
Your language skills are really improving too. You now say “Mama”. I love asking you what a cow says, you will make a “mmmmm” sound and then start laughing. You also learned to sign “more” when you want more to eat. You also started waving when we say hi.
You still love to look at books. You don’t always sit still for full stories but you love looking through books and flipping the page. The only 3 books you will sit through these days are : “Pookie, its time for bed”, “The going to bed book”, and “ABC I love you”. You love looking through your farm animal book.
You started carrying around purses now. Nonnie made you a mini purse and you love to carry it around your neck. You are not a happy camper if someone tries to take it off your neck. You even try to carry you diaper bag even though its way too big! Silly girl! You also love to pretend to talk on the phone.
Daddy is still your favorite! Oh how you light up when he walks in the door! You were so excited to try his boots on the other day!
As I am preparing for your first birthday party, that is fast approaching I am reminded of this time a year ago when I was eagerly awaiting your arrival! We kept thinking any day now we get to meet our daughter. Little did we know you’d make us wait another whole week but it was worth every minute of our wait!
We love you sweet girl! We are reminded everyday just how blessed we are to be your Mommy and Daddy!
