My Heart Runneth Over: Happy 1st Father’s Day!!

What is one of the best things about becoming a Mom?? Watching the man you love turn into a Daddy!! It has been one of the biggest joys of my life watching Jason become a Dad over the past 8 months. Ella and him have such a special connection that is so obvious to anyone who has ever seen them together. All he has to do is walk in the room and she has a huge smile on her face or starts belly laughing. Really warms my heart. One of the blessings of me returning to work is that Jason and her have a lot of Daddy/Daughter time. He has really taken to it and does an awesome job with her. I knew he’d be an awesome Dad…but to sit back and get to watch it for the last 8 months has been really special!

One of the greatest influences in a little girl’s life is her father. I feel so blessed for those influences in my life. I was raised by a hard working and loving father. He showed our family his love through his selfless acts of caring. Whether it was working hard to provide for our family, changing the oil in my car, checking the weather where I was heading (and giving a full briefing), or calling to check in with us – he has always taken good care of us. I just pray he understands the influence he has had in my life and how those little acts he thinks nothing about have shaped my life. I am also grateful to have a wonderful father-in-law. He has shown Jason how to be a father. He has also welcomed me into the family with open arms and has always made me feel like family! Jason, I am inspired by your desire to be such a wonderful father to our daughter. I am blessed to be sharing this life and this journey of parenthood with you!

We had such a nice Father’s day weekend. The weekend started with some great Mommy and Daddy date time. We went to the Kenny Chesney/Zac Brown concert on Sat with Keith and Jen. It was an awesome concert and it was so great to get away and have some Mommy and Daddy time! On Sunday we packed everything up, grabbed breakfast and headed to the beach for some family time before I had to head into work. Ella had her first dip in the ocean…and loved it.
